The Spirits

 

Like all good stories, this one began late one night in a dimly lit bar over a gin martini. My business partner Howard Raymond is the son of Paul Raymond, the original 'King of Soho'; flamboyant, creative and full of fun - we decided to create a gin as a celebration of Paul's life. 

The King of Soho Gin launched in October 2013 with a Super Premium Distilled London Dry Gin. Distilled in the heart of London using traditional methods, no less than twelve botanicals are used to create its unique flavour profile. Encapsulating the rich creativity and unique lifestyle of the effervescent London district of Soho, citrusy grapefruit is delicately combined with classic juniper to create a smooth perfectly balanced London Dry Gin.

The summer of 2018 saw the launch of The King of Soho Variorum Gin, with a hint of pink and notes of strawberry, a new berry edition was added to our bold and colourful line-up; an elixir inspired by the playful and enigmatic streets of Soho.

More recently, we added a wonderful new home-grown 'Copacetic Vodka' (the meaning of ‘copacetic’ is ‘exceedingly fine’ and reflects the brand’s advocacy to the creation of premium spirits for the discerning drinker) to our offering. This standout new spirit in its vibrant purple bottle celebrates the ascendancy of vodka in the late 70s and early 80s. Vodka heralded the dawn of the disco era, epitomised by big hair, big flares and big cocktails! This period also marked the next stage of Paul’s spirited life. Still suited and booted, he grew his hair long and embraced the vibrancy of a new era as he started to snap up swathes of property in the Soho.
